In September 2014, ASHOF was fortunate to secure funding through the Department of Regional Development and Infrastructure grants program to install a new solar panel system and upgrade on existing lighting.
360 panels, generating a whopping 100kw were installed over a three week period in late 2015. The exciting new project will be commissioned in January 2016 and will begin generating power immediately.
ASHOF CEO Lloyd Mills said ‘The system will provide some respite from the spiraling electricity prices we have endured over the last 24 months.’
Furthermore in September 2015, a full retro fit of all lighting in the Hall over to LED lighting was completed along with upgrades to our 27 year old air conditioning system.
We are thrilled to report ASHOF should see a significant decline in the organisations largest operating expense (that of electricity,) in coming months with many thanks to the Department of Regional Development and Infrastructure grants program.
